Many of our guests who are on a touring holiday wish they had allowed time to stay more than one night in Applecross. The peaceful nature of the area makes it a great place to have a break from constant travelling.
If you can spare us just one day.
To appreciate the atmosphere: in the morning take a gentle walk from the house to the coral beach enjoying the views, and perhaps seeing the family of otters; then have a light lunch in the unique walled garden setting of the Potting Shed restaurant; followed by a visit to the Heritage Centre and Clachan church to experience the spiritual nature of the sanctuary; then, perhaps, an invigorating walk on Sand Beach to work up a thirst and appetite for the seafood at the Applecross Inn.
For the more energetic the morning can be spent walking the old hill track from Cruary to Sand Beach. In our opinion this is one of the most scenic walks in Scotland.
Staying Longer
There are plenty of things to do in the area including: watching wild life, fishing, sea kayaking and RIB trips (booking required); visiting Attadale or Inverewe gardens; hawking; visiting the many craft shops and the excellent tartan mill at Loch Carron.
For walkers we have maps and information on the many longer and more challenging walks, both locally and within an hour´s drive in Torridon, Kintail or Skye. In 2006 some guests stayed a week and did a different walk from the house every day.
